  • To contribute to the community of our learners.
  • To bring into closer relation home and school, so that parents and teachers may cooperate in the education and enrichment of our children.
  • Parent support is the most important way we can meet the PTO objectives
  • Any help you can give is greatly appreciated

Read-A-Thon - We BEAT our reading GOAL!!!

Clued Into Reading Read-A-Thon:  September 30 through October 09, 2011    

Dear Marshall Families, 

   We're in the final stretch for the Read-a-thon and our reading has exploded with 151,000 minutes read. 

   Sunday, Oct. 9th is the last day to record your minutes.  There's a close race for the TOP classroom.  Be sure to keep reading over the weekend.  

  Status through Thursday October 6th:

 Amongst 3rd through 5th grades, 4th grade continues to lead in minutes read.

Amongst K through 2nd grades, 2nd grade continues to lead in minutes read.

The top classes of the day are:
Kindergarten: Ms. Nuckles
1st Grade: Mrs. Franklin
2nd Grade: Mrs. Quattrone
3rd Grade: Mrs. Dunstane
4th Grade: Mrs. Hoak
5th Grade:  TIE between Mrs. Girvan and Mrs. Imon


 

  

Be sure to get pledges/donations for your reading minutes.
  All donations need to be turned in with your pledge envelopes by Wednesday, October 12th.  This is the final weekend to get those pledges and donations. Remember, 100% of all donations go directly to Marshall.

Attention Marshall Families:

Mark your calendar for Marshall Elementary’s Read-A-Thon Fundraising Event:

“Clued Into Reading”

Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 9, 2011

On Saturday, October 1st  Barnes & Noble will sponsor a book fair at their Manassas location as well as online.  A percentage of all purchases made  by Marshall families and friends will be donated to our school.  More information on this event will be sent home this month.

Gather your books and get ready to read, read and read some more!  The students and classes who log in the most minutes and raise the most donations will receive some fabulous prizes.

Reading logs and sponsor sheets will be sent home on September 30th and due back to school on Wednesday, October 12th.
